Foundational and Associate Certifications

AWS offers four tiers of certifications. The Foundational tier includes the Cloud Practitioner exam. It validates overall understanding of the AWS Cloud. The Associate tier requires deeper technical knowledge. It includes the Solutions Architect, Developer, and SysOps Administrator certifications. These focus on building and maintaining AWS workloads.

Professional and Specialty Certifications

The Professional tier is for advanced engineers. It includes the Solutions Architect Professional and DevOps Engineer Professional exams. These require extensive experience designing complex cloud architectures. The Specialty tier focuses on specific technical domains. Examples include Security, Database, and Advanced Networking.
