Understanding Holding Period Return (HPR)
The Holding Period Return (HPR) measures the total profit or loss generated by an investment over the entire duration it was held. Unlike CAGR or simple annual returns, HPR does not restrict itself to calendar years and computes absolute yields combining price change and interest/dividend cash distributions.
