The National Testing Agency on Monday announced to postpone the upcoming UGC-NET June / September exam 2020. The examination earlier scheduled to be held between September 16 and 23 has now been scheduled for September 24.
In an official circular issued by the NTA today, the agency stated that “In view of ICAR examination AIEEA-UG / PG and AICE-JRF / SRF (Ph.D.) 2020-21 being conducted on the above-mentioned dates, the National Testing Agency has rescheduled the dates of UGC-NET Examination, 2020. This is due to some common candidates in both exams and the requests received thereof. The UGC-NET 2020 Examination will now be held from 24th September onward. ”
As per the latest updates, the exact schedule of subject-wise and shift-wise details will be uploaded later.
The NTA in its notification further stated that the downloading of admit cards indicating roll number, examination center, date, shift, and timing of the examination will be announced before the date of examination on the official website of UGC-NET Examination 2020.
UGC NET 2020 exams will be conducted by NTA in 81 subjects at different examination centers across India to determine the eligibility for the post of Assistant Professor and Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) or Assistant Professor only in various Indian Universities / Colleges / Institutions recognized by UGC.
The exam will comprise two papers Paper I and II containing multiple-choice questions (MCQs). While Paper I which is on teaching and research aptitude is common and mandatory for all candidates, Paper-II will be on the subject selected by the candidate. Both papers have to be completed within 3 hours.
After a considerable delay due to the pandemic the exams which were supposed to take place in June were postponed to September 16.
