New design and ‘more personalized’ experience
In the new Fire TV Stick, the Main Menu is at the center of screen. The redesign is aimed to make it easy to find what viewers are looking for. Viewers can jump into their favorite streaming service directly, or scroll over supported apps to quickly peek at what’s inside and begin playback. The new Find experience is said to make it easier than ever to discover great movies, TV shows, and more, with browsing capabilities that allow for broad and specific searches based on genre (eg comedies, action), helpful categories (eg free, sports , Live TV), and more.
Alexa remains at the core of the new Fire TV experience. Users just need to say “Alexa, go to Library” to browse shows. The personalized experience includes recommendations, viewing history, watch lists, preferred settings, and more. Changing user profiles is simple by saying, “Alexa, switch to my profile.” After initial setup, Alexa will automatically recognize the voice and switch to your profile, says the company.
