Amazon’s voice assistant Alexa is now going to be available in Hindi on both iPhones as well as Android smartphones. This will happen through the Alexa app, said the company in a press statement as it marks the first anniversary of Alexa’s Hindi support in India.
Amazon has also claimed that Alexa can now understand 50 different ways to play a particular song in Hindi. Amazon claims that the Alexa Speech Science team has used the latest advances in deep neural networks, multi-dialect training, and semi-supervised learning to reduce Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR) errors by more than 40% since launch of Hindi last year.
Earlier this week, Amazon announced that Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan will soon become the celebrity voice for Amazon Alexa. Amitabh Bachchan has entered into partnership with Amazon in order to create a unique celebrity voice experience.
This will allow users of Amazon Alexa to be able to access Bachchan’s iconic voice on Alexa by purchasing the Amitabh Bachchan voice experience.
As part of Amitabh Bachchcan voice experience users, Amazon will be offering jokes, weather, shayaris, motivational quotes, advice and more in his voice.
This feature will only be available next year.
